An Appeal court sitting in Abuja on Wednesday, lifted the movement restriction on Convener of Revolution Now and Publisher, SaharaReporters, Omoyele Sowore.
Recalled that a Federal High Court in Abuja had in 2019, restricted Sowore’s movement to Abuja following charges of treasonable felony and cyberstalking the President Muhammadu Buhari among other offences preferred against him.
In its verdict, the Appeal Court held that Sowore could leave Abuja but not travel out of Nigeria.
Sowore was arrested in a Lagos hotel by operatives of the Department of State Service on August 3, 2019, when he planning to organise a protest called, “#RevolutionNow”.
