Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has procured 10 heavy-duty refuse evacuation trucks and three payloader excavators to enhance waste management and environmental sanitation across the state.
The governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, announced the development in a statement on Friday, highlighting the administration’s commitment to tackling long-standing waste disposal challenges.
The new equipment was officially presented by the Commissioner for Environment and Climate Change, Dr. Dahir Hashim, who emphasized the government’s efforts to improve sanitation, reduce environmental pollution, and mitigate climate change effects.
Governor Yusuf reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to sustainable environmental practices and called on residents to support government initiatives by maintaining proper waste disposal habits.
The newly acquired machinery will be deployed immediately to areas struggling with waste management issues.
