The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, as the winner of Nigeria’s presidential election.
He was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission as the president-elect.
Tinubu, was a former Governor in Lagos State for two terms. The was 70-year-old ex-Senator was declared the president-elect after he polled 8,794,726 votes to win the 2023 presidential election.
He scored a total of 8,794,726 votes, the highest of all the candidates, thus meeting the first constitutional requirement to be declared the winner.
By this, he scored over 25 per cent of the votes cast in 30 states, more than the 24 states constitutionally required.
