The CAS commended the Centre’s efforts in curtailing the illegal circulation of arms within Nigeria, asserting, “Any initiative aimed at controlling the spread of small arms and light weapons is a welcomed step toward a prosperous and peaceful Nigeria.” Furthermore, he praised the Centre’s establishment of a comprehensive database for tracking legitimate and illicit arms in the country, a resource that greatly assists security agencies and the Federal Government in managing weapons and ammunition effectively.
