The Police Service Commission (PSC) has named Olohundare Moshood Jimoh as the new Commissioner of Police for the Lagos State Command.
The announcement was made on Monday, February 17, 2025.d
Prior to this appointment, CP Jimoh served as the Commissioner of Police for Ports Authority, Eastern Ports.
His extensive career in the Nigeria Police Force includes roles such as Force Public Relations Officer, Deputy Commissioner of Airport Police, Deputy Commissioner of Finance and Administration, and Deputy Commissioner of General Investigation.
A native of Kwara State, CP Jimoh has undergone extensive professional training both within and outside Nigeria.
His training includes courses on combat operations at the Mobile Training College in Maiduguri, participation in the African Union Mission in Darfur, Sudan, and specialized training on countermeasures against weapons of mass destruction in the United States.
He has also attended training programs in China on social construction and management reform, maritime rescue, and anti-hijacking techniques.
Additionally, he trained at the Police Training Institute in Seoul, South Korea.
CP Jimoh is a recipient of the prestigious Presidential Award for Public Relations Personality of the Year, an honor bestowed by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the field.
His confirmation as Lagos State Commissioner of Police followed his appearance before the Police Service Commission. The session was attended by the Commission’s Chairman, retired Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Hashimu Argungu, retired Supreme Court Justice Adamu Paul Galmuje, who represents the judiciary, and DIG Taiwo Lakanu, fdc, who represents the police.
